Baileigh BG-679 Abrasive Belt Grinder

This abrasive belt grinder has a large 6” web width and uses standard 6” X 79” belts. We use a powerful 4 hp motor to turn the belt at 3540 fpm using 220 volts of single phase power, allowing it to be used by any machine or fabrication shop, or foundry setting.

Like all Baileigh abrasive belt grinders, this one is constructed of heavy steel that is folded, welded, or bolted in place. This type of construction reduces vibration allowing it to run smoother extending machine and belt life. The BG-679 abrasive belt grinder has a sturdy welded steel stand that allows the machine to work at the proper angle for the job at hand, noting that the head pivots. Adequate guarding is in place for safety such as eye shields. A heavy part rest is also standard for cleaning up the ends of tube, pipe or bar stock.

The top of the BG-679 has an access panel that is hinged and can be open to grind large items such as castings in a foundry. A grit tray is in the front of the machine and in the back of the machine a powerful vacuum extraction devise is standard to assist keeping the abrasive belt grinder clean, a must have for any belt grind machine.

Baileigh abrasive belt grinders come standard with a urethane coated drive and idler wheel for great grip on the belt. The motor to drive wheel is via a direct drive and has a fine tune adjustment to keep the belt in alignment. A tension control adjustment is standard to keep the belt taught as it stretches.
