Features:
- Extra-large spindle bearings "6 PLUS 6" and "VS6" spindle
and spindle pulley are supported by four oversized, preloaded,
lubricated-for-life ball bearings. Massive quill is a full 2"
diameter. "VS6" has the same excellent construction, PLUS an
extra bearing below the spindle pulley. This fine combination of
features assures freedom from chatter, long, maintenance-free
life and maximum pressure at the drill point
- Wide, test-proven speed range gives you a true 10-to-1 speed
ratio. You get the exact speed you need for every drilling job
on any material- 450 to 4,700 rpm with a 1,725 rpm motor
- Quick belt tension release is provided by the pivoting motor
mounting plate which has a reverse, self-locking taper on the
spring-loaded, rubber-tipped plunger that quickly restores
correct belt tension
- Extra-long quill travel gives the extra depth you need for
deep-hole jobs like skip and gang drilling...PLUS, the extra
stroke required for clearing jigs and fixtures
- Six speeds offer unbelievably wide range of speeds with a
low-cost 1,725 rpm motor- 425; 600; 1,100; 2,050; 3,900 and
5,500 rpm- 11.8 to 1 speed ratio. You can choose an extra-slow
speed for drilling very hard materials, an extra-fast speed for
working soft materials or an optimum speed for any size bit
material
- Efficient variable-speed drive lets you select any spindle
speed instantly while machine is running. A self-locking cam,
plus a "snubber" feature, holds speed settings constant under
all load conditions. Proper belt tension is automatically
maintained for full power transmission
- Note: To convert 15" Drill Press with 1/2" key chuck to No.
2 M.T. spindle, order No. 15-833 No. 2 M.T. adapter.
- Note: To obtain 1,140 rpm 1/2 HP motor in place of standard
1,725 rpm 3/4 HP motor, order Cat. No. 49-008 for single phase
and Cat. No. 49-009 for three phase, in addition to complete
machine and electricals. 1,140 rpm 1/2 HP motor supplies
equivalent torque to 1,725 rpm 3/4 HP motor.
