Our portable rebar cutters are faster, safer and more economical to use than abrasive blade cutters or an oxygen/acetylene cutting torch. In just 3 seconds, our DC-20WH can cut up to #6
(¾â) grade 60 rebar, abrasive blades or cutting torches take at least twice that time. Our tools safely cut thru rebar without a shower of hot burning sparks and the risk of starting a
fire or the operator getting burned by accidentally touching the hot glowing rebar. A set of cutting blocks can cut thru 8,000-10,000 pieces of rebar, that figures out to be about one
cent per cut. Abrasive blades or cutting torches are about 5 times more expensive to use on cutting large volumes of rebar. Our portable rebar cutters are cold cutting shears;
inspectors on highway and bridge jobs require that the reinforcing steel be cut with a cold cutting shear. Abrasive blades or cutting torches causes heat transfer that may weaken the
rebar. Our cutters work great on cutting epoxy coated rebar too.
